Meet The Teachers

The Teachers at The Boury Academy have all trained extensively themselves in various areas of Dance, Drama and Musical Theatre. We are very lucky to have West End professionals to teach our students. Find out more about them below...

Caroline Boury

Founder and Principal

Caroline trained at both the Urdang and Mountview Academy. Her professional acting work includes Radio (BBC Radio 4), Theatre (including various Alan Ayckbourn plays, James and the Giant Peach and Horrible Histories) and various Television  appearances .She  once even took some students along to perform with her on Cbeebies!

She has also been a children's acting coach for Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (West End) and Choreographer for CBeebies.

She has been teaching students for more than ten years and loves to see how they devlop their confidence and skills as they grow. Children that Caroline has taught have worked professionally in both the West End and on screen (one even won a BAFTA!)

Rakesh Boury

Founder and Principal

Rakesh trained at MADD (Midlands Academy of Dance and Drama)

His professional credits include We Will Rock You (Dominion Theatre, West End), Rock of Ages (UK Tour), Bend it Like Beckham (Phoenix Theatre, West End), Wind In The Willows (UK Tour) as well as various bits and pieces on television and on advert campaigns.

Rakesh is also part of the Acapella singing group MODI-5 who feature on SKY 1's new show 'SING - Ultimate A capella'

He is very excited to be sharing his skills with the students and using his west end connections to bring in brilliant guest teachers and opportunities.

Sasha Venmore-Rowland

Asisstant Director/ Board Member

Sasha trained at Drama Centre London and with the Almeida Young Company.

Some of her credits include: Rugby girl (Amazon web series), (This Isn’t) A True Story (Almeida Theatre), Cacophony (Almeida Theatre)

Sasha has been teaching for over five years, as well as gaining valuable experience working with children at Great Ormond Street Hospital. She has loved being part of The Boury Academy from day one and delights in helping the amazing children grow and flourish.


Kage Douglas

Dance Teacher/ Board Member

Kage trained at Bird College in Sidcup

He has worked extensively in dance and musical theatre and has appeared in Dirty Dancing (UK and European Tour's) Hair (European Tour) Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat, We Will Rock You and Saturday Night Fever. You may also have seen Kage in various Panto's around the country at Christmas time.

As well as working on stage he has appeared in commercials for brands such as McDonalds and Wickes as well as being in the Olympic Opening Ceremony.

Kage was a resident dancer for Top of the Pops Reloaded and can also be seen in MAMMA MIA! the movie.

We are incredibly excited to have Kage as part of our team. His enthusiasm and work ethic is infectious and the kids are excited to be taught by a real movie star!

Shalisha James-Davis

Mini B's Teacher

Shalisha has trained with the National Youth Theatre REP Company, where she played Juliet in Romeo and Juliet at The Ambassadors Theatre West End.

Other professional credits include Our Country's Good (National Theatre), Vera (ITV), Next Of Kin (ITV), Class (BBC), DNA (Ambassadors theatre)

As well as appearing in short films and commercials Shalisha also teaches Singing, Acting and Dance for other performing arts schools in London and loves investing in young performers watching them blossom into true stars.

She is excited to be part of the Academy Team.

Rosie Sheehy

Drama Teacher

Rosie Sheehy trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and since graduating some of credits include: 

Theatre: The Hairy Ape (Old Vic); Uncle Vanya (Sheffield Crucible); Bird (Manchester Royal Exchange); Strife (Chichester); The Whale (Theatre Royal Bath); The Wolves (Theatre Royal Stratford East);

TV: Chernobyl (HBO); Wild Bill (ITV); Call the Midwife (BBC); DCI Banks (Left Bank Pictures) 

Rosie loves teaching young talent and is so excited to be part of the team.

Jasette Amos

Singing Teacher

Jasette Amos started her career as a session singer and had the opportunity to perform with some of the biggest artists in the world, including Elton John and Madonna. She has recorded with Grammy Award winning Basement Jaxx, and pop legend Boy George. On stage, Jasette landed a leading role in the West End musical Daddy Cool, and went on a world tour with the show. On screen, she has often sung backing vocals on the X Factor, and recorded singles with One Direction.

More recently, Jasette has moved into television and film. She featured in popular daytime TV drama ‘Doctors’, shot adverts for Visa in Israel and Ford in the UK, and shot the feature film ‘Death Race 4’ alongside Danny Glover, which is released worldwide in early 2018 and recently starred in The new Ella Eyre video for her latest release “Mama”.

Jasette has built an excellent reputation as a vocal coach, having taught in many schools throughout the country with The British Gospel Arts Consortium , Magic Beans theatre company and also L.E.A.D.E.R.S community arts. As a performance consultant, working with various new artistes and pop groups, record labels and management companies. She featured on X Factor 2014 for her vocal coaching work with finalist Fleur East.

Jasette is an excellent vocal workshop leader and has over 15 years experience working with schools.

Jason Denton

Drama Teacher

Jason has appeared in a variety of West End Shows and UK Tours, as well as shows over in the USA.

Theatre credits include: Spamilton (Menier Chocolate Factory), Hairspray (Silver Centre Theatre, New Hampshire USA), School Of Rock (New London Theatre), Show Boat (Sheffield Crucible/New London Theatre) Beautiful: The Carole King Musical (Aldwych Theatre), Stephen Ward (Aldwych Theatre), Hot Stuff, Hello Dolly, Piaf (all at Curve Theare, Leicester), Save the Last Dance for Me (UK Tour), Britain’s Got Bangra (UK Tour), I Was Looking at the Ceiling and then I Saw the Sky (Theatre Royal, Stratford East), Joseph and the Amazing Tecnicolour Dreamcoat (UK Tour), Sleeping Beauty (Kenneth More Theatre, Ilford), Much Ado About Nothing (Complete Works Theatre Co), Original cast recording Stephen Ward.

Television credits include: musical video Canvas Bags (BBC Comedy Shuffle), Jason was also a member of the performing group DICE who made it to the final of Don’t Stop Believin’ (Five).

Commercial credits include: HSBC, Betfair, Google, McDonalds and Seatwave.

Workshops include: Alfred Fagon Project (Bristol Old Vic), and Freeworld (Theatre Royal Stratford East, James Peries).
