Our Team
The Teachers at The Boury Academy have all trained extensively in various areas of Dance, Drama and Musical Theatre. We are very lucky to have West End professionals to teach our students.
Our team is dedicated to promoting professionalism in performing arts for all, creating a warm and supportive family atmosphere for young people's development, and empowering people to challenge the status quo. We are a diverse and experienced group of professionals who share a passion for nurturing young talent and providing opportunities for all aspiring performers, regardless of background or circumstance.
Caroline Boury
Founder and CEO
Caroline trained at both the Urdang and Mountview Academy. Her professional acting work includes Radio (BBC Radio 4), Theatre (including various Alan Ayckbourn plays, James and the Giant Peach and Horrible Histories) and different television appearances. She once even took some students along to perform with her on Cbeebies! She has also been a children's acting coach for Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (West End) and Choreographer for CBeebies.

She has been teaching students for more than fifteen years and loves to see how they develop their confidence and skills as they grow. Children that Caroline has taught have worked professionally in both the West End and on screen.

Named one of the Top 100 Women in Social Enterprise 2022 and 2023 she was also nominated for Women Of The Future for her work in Arts and Culture. She was the overall winner of the Lambeth Council Future Connected Programme 2023-2024 as well as the Project Lead for the Lambeth ELEVATE Education team. She passionately believes that working in partnership with other organisations is the key to delivering true success and better outcomes for young people.
Caroline also heads The Boury Agency, representing Adults and Young Performers across stage and screen.
Rakesh Boury
Director and Founder
Rakesh trained at MADD (Midlands Academy of Dance and Drama)
His professional credits include We Will Rock You (Dominion Theatre, West End), Rock of Ages (UK Tour), Bend it Like Beckham (Phoenix Theatre, West End), Wind In The Willows (UK Tour) as well as various bits and pieces on television and on advert campaigns.
Rakesh is also part of the Acapella singing group MODI-5 featured on SKY 1's new show 'SING - Ultimate A Capella
He is very excited to be sharing his skills with the students and using his west-end connections to bring in brilliant guest teachers and opportunities. You can currently find Rak performing as Mr Wormwood in 'Matilda' on the West End
Sasha Venmore-Rowland
Director
Sasha trained at Drama Centre London and with the Almeida Young Company.
Some of her credits include: Rugby Girl (Amazon web series), (This Isn’t) A True Story (Almeida Theatre), Cacophony (Almeida Theatre)

Sasha is one of the four Directors of The Boury Academy and has been teaching for nearly ten years, as well as gaining valuable experience working with children at Great Ormond Street Hospital.
She has loved being part of The Boury Academy from day one and delights in helping the amazing children grow and flourish. As well as being one of the Directors, she is head of our Mini B's programme.
Kage Douglas
Director
Kage trained at Bird College in Sidcup
Kage is one of the four Directors of The Boury Academy and is also Head of Dance.
He has worked extensively in dance and musical theatre and has appeared in Dirty Dancing (UK and European Tour) Hair (European Tour) Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat, We Will Rock You and Saturday Night Fever. You may also have seen Kage in various Panto's around the country at Christmas time.

We are incredibly excited to have Kage as part of our team. His enthusiasm and work ethic is infectious and the young people and parents alike are excited to be put through their paces by a real movie star!
Ben Jackson
BOURY AGENCY
Having grown up surrounded by the performing arts and performing himself, Ben took his career in an alternative direction when he completed his degree, achieving a first-class accreditation in Business and Human resource management at Coventry University.

Following his graduation he sought ways to combine his business skills and love of working with people with his love and passion for the arts. This led him to a career as a talent agent, a perfect mix of the two.
​
Ben works closely with clients of all ages and is proud to be part of The Boury Agency Team
DARREL DRAPER
STUDIOS CO ORDINATOR
Darrel studied Theatre Arts at Middlesex University before obtaining a PGCE in Performing Arts. He has taught across the curriculum throughout mainstream education and within many community environments.
Alongside side teaching, Darrel has spent many years in the industry working as a professional actor and playwright, he's seen his work brought to life on many well-respected London stages and has been featured on BBC Radio and television. Darrel has received mentorship in screen writing from ITV and has been awarded Arts Council Funding on multiple occasions for his work for theatre.
With his work Darrel aims to shine a light on those living on the circumference of society, focusing on individuals who are often overlooked and misrepresentation in the mainstream media.
Darrel has a strong passion for community work and wholeheartedly believes in the transformative power of performing arts. Being someone who is Neurodivergent and from a low socio-economic background/upbringing, Darrel has a personal appreciation and admiration for such essential companies like The Boury, who are nurturing the next generation and giving them greater opportunities to grow and excel within a safe and supportive environment.​
Theo Campbell
Mental Health and Pastoral Lead
Theo leads our Mental Health work and Pastoral care by providing group sessions and 1-1 help for our students and families.
Prior to joining the team ,Theo has been working as a Learning Mentor, helping students overcome academic challenges and achieve their full potential. He recently expanded his knowledge and skills by becoming a Trauma Informed Practitioner. This means he is equipped to work with individuals who have experience trauma and able to provide them with the necessary support and resources to heal and recover.

He is thrilled to join The Boury Academy Team where he can continue to make a positive impact on the lives of students. He looks forward to sharing his expertise and contributing to the growth and success of both the individual and the organisation.
Monique Anderson
Musical Theatre
Moniqué began her professional vocational training at ’Bodywork Company’ in Cambridge. Moniqué trained as a ‘triple threat performer’ gaining a diploma in Musical Theatre - studying various dance disciplines like Hip hop, commercial, and jazz and focusing her efforts on Acting and singing. She furthered her education at GSA where she completed her Degree.

Assistant choreographer/lead dancer Queens Jubilee parade with Boury Academy,
Notting Hill Carnival Redbull stage artist Alicai Harley with ‘Energy Squad’, ‘Move IT’ featured dancer King of the Castle by Ryan Lee Seager.
Moniqué has a huge passion and enthusiasm for performing arts. She brings that same energy to her classes. Wanting each person to feel confident & most importantly to have fun!
AYSH ATKINS
Singing
Aysh is a multi-disciplinary musician with several years of experience as a performer, voice coach and music director. She graduated from Brunel University with a BA(Hons) in Musicology, and also trained at a division of one of London's most prestigious institutions; Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
Aysh has both on-screen and West End credits; and now combines her passion for the arts with training performers at professional music and theatre organisations across the UK.
COLLEEN JOSEPH
DRAMA
Mervin is a triple threat artist with who first began his love for the arts in dance. Mervin has worked professionally in Film/TV, theatre and the commercial industry. Working from Music videos to west end and also leading in a feature film releasing in summer! Mervin loves to story tell via singing, acting and dancing, and loves to also pass on the knowledge and experiences he has gained to the upcoming talent.

MARCELLA SMITH
Drama
Marcella has trained in theatre and screen acting at Kingdom Drama School taught by industry professionals and co-founder, actor and director Ashley Walter’s (Top Boy, Bulletproof).
She is a retired qualified social worker who decided to follow her childhood ambitions of becoming an actor, playwright and screenwriter.
Marcella has extensive experience in social sciences and psychology, social care and child development. As a social worker she has experience working with marginalised children, looked after children and their foster carers, youth offenders and children with complex access needs, educational needs and neurodivergent needs who may additionally experience mental health challenges.
She believes performing arts is a key resource to supporting children to aspire to be the best version of themselves in a fun, supportive, safe space so children thrive, develop confidence and shine in their individual uniqueness.
Jaden Evelyn
Mini B's
Jaden has been a student at The Boury Academy since its first ever day.
He has gone on to train at The Urdang Academy on the AVT course and is currently studying at Fourth Monkey.
He has appeared in the 2022 Mini Cooper Christmas Commerical and is a brilliant Triple Threat Performer.
He is an excellent friend to our mini B's and loves working with them each week
EMMANUEL KOME
DANCE
Emmanuel kome completed his BA hons at performers college where he has since transitioned into the industry enjoying different corners of what there is to offer. Some of his professional credits include: The Womens Euros 2021, The Brit Awards, Dancing on Ice and many more.
Precious Scott
Mini B's
Precious is a longstanding student at The Boury Academy. She has trained at The Urdang Academy on the AVT course and is currently studying at Fourth Monkey. She has appeared in a pilot for Sky TV's Kisses and Bumflicks' in 'Macbeth' with The Players Theatre Company, co-starred in a BFI Funded short film and featured in the 2022 Mini Cooper Christmas Commerical. She loves working with the Mini B's and is an excellent friend and role model for them
Leonie O’Sullivan
Mini B’s
Leonie trained at The Boury Academy where she has been a student now for three years. She is part of our mentorship and growth scheme to employ students and give them the opportunity to develop their training and employability within performing arts. She is thoroughly enjoying sharing her skills with the youngest students and we are delighted to see her thrive and develop confidence in teaching as well as performing
Sophie Duniam
Ballet and Tap / Musical Theatre
Sophie started her training at her mothers school Marlene’s School of Dancing where she became a licentiate with the International Dance Teachers Association. She continued her training at Laine Theatre Arts.
Sophie has been working extensively in the business ever since, including We Will Rock You original cast Zurich. Viva La Dive UK arena tour with Darcy Bussell & Catherine Jenkins. Backing dancer & singer for the
Pet Shop Boys on their Pandemonium world tour, Rita Ora on her 2015 festival tour, Take That at the Britt awards & Universal awards, Westlife Xmas special & Jamelia.
Sophie has also danced in many music videos for artists such as Pet Shop Boys, Rita Ora, Biffy Clyro, Duffy and Pixie Lott.
Sophie is now concentrating on her own music in a band with her twin sister alongside teaching Yoga at the Southbank.
Sophie is delighted to be teaching and sharing her experience of the musical theatre world here at the Boury Academy and also to be introducing the Ballet and Tap IDTA syllabus to our young students.
Robert Ogilvie
Music Production / Technical Theatre
Rob has worked as a lighting designer / technician at the National theatre, Royal opera House, Royal festival hall, Fairfield halls and at most west end theatres. He was was also part of the team that toured Swan Lake around Europe for two and a half years.

He does lighting design, lighting programming, laser design & programming, live sound, music production and DJing.
Zoe Humphryes
Dance
Zoe trained at Arts Educational Schools, London - graduating in 2018 with a BA(Hons) in Musical Theatre.
Professional performing credits include: 'Dr Seuss' How The Grinch Stole Christmas' (Original UK Cast), MAMMA MIA! (West End), Comic Relief (BBC), Olivier Awards (Royal Albert Hall), Friday Night is Music Night (Royal Albert Hall), TFI Friday - Christmas Special (Channel 4).
Zoe has been teaching for 7 years and has choreographed performances at venues including The Shaftesbury Theatre, IndigO2, Sadlers Wells, The Stag (Sevenoaks) and The Hawth (Crawley). She has also trained pupils who have gone onto successfully audition for leading drama schools and professional theatre/TV work.
